Chandini Harlalka is a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist( REAT) from IEATA (International Expressive Art Therapy Association) and a Psychodrama Director (PD) from the Moreno Institute, Germany. She also holds an MFA in Art history. Chandini’s work is rooted in experiential methodology and Eastern contemplative traditions.
Inspired by insights into the human experience, Chandini is committed to a path of self-inquiry, examining the nature of mind and reality by applying critical enquiry and direct embodied experience. Through her work, Chandini aims to disrupt habitual patterns of behaviour by challenging perception and self-reinforcing systems of belief that lock us into cycles of dissatisfaction. Her work combines the use of fine arts, authentic movement, drama, sand-play and other experiential forms to create a representation of thoughts and feelings, while allowing them to surface through the act of personal discovery, to foster bottom-up transformation.
Her work with dream analysis and Jungian concepts helps one to explore and engage deeper with indigenous concepts of symbolism, myths & rituals and to retrieve lost meaning in modern day living. Her workshops on “Rangoli Meditations”, “Cosmic Dance of Shiva and Shakti - A divine union and the dissolution of duality”, “The Unfolding Lotus”, “Hiranyagarbh” (The Golden Womb) have been experiential expressive arts workshops, working with Eastern concepts, and take you through a spiritual experience of healing and the divinity of ‘Self’.
Chandini has attended numerous Jungian oriented workshops under Ann Shearer, Kate Donahue and Anjali D’Souza and was a part of the the Indigenous Roots of Expressive Arts Therapy Workshop by Kate T. Donahue in Ghana, Africa (2014) and India (2015 and 2016). She has presented in the International Expressive Arts Therapy (IEATA) conference in Russia in 2015 and at Winnipeg, Canada 2017.
Chandini is a student of meditation, yoga and philosophy.
